Reply and Rejoinder

Written Round

After an interim judgment, the court may decide that a written round is needed. During this stage, both the claimant and the defendant have to explain their position in more detail in writing. The claimant does this by submitting a reply, to which the defendant can respond with a rejoinder. Usually, both parties will be given six weeks to do so. If an interim judgment has already been given, this period will often be reduced to four weeks.
