Listed company
A listed company is a company of which the shares or depositary receipts for shares are admitted to trading on a securities market. The Dutch securities market is Euronext, which the securities market in Amsterdam falls under.
As the shares of a listed company must be freely trade-able, they are not registered as for a B.V. A listed company is therefore always a N.V. But not not every N.V. is a listed company.
Additional rules such as a strengthened publication requirements apply to listed companies. The Corporate Governance Code, instituted by the Tabaksblat committee, applies to listed companies. This code of conduct contains principles and best practices for listed companies, which must protect the interests of all stakeholders.
