In the Netherlands a general partner refers the partner in a limited partnership that is responsible for the daily operations of the business.

Limited partnership in The Netherlands

A limited partnership (under Dutch law) consist of at least one general partner and at least one limited partner. The limited partner is only financially involved in the company (as investor) but has no managerial rights. The liabilities of the limited partner are limited while the liabilities of the general partner are unlimited.

If there are more general partners in a Dutch limited partnership, the general partners form between themselves a general partnership (under Dutch law).
